30 years of experience with experiments in fish farming and aquaculture
The Industrial and Aquatic Laboratory (ILAB) is a contract laboratory for research into fish farming and aquaculture. We have more than 30 years of experience in facilitating public and private funded research, and we annually conduct more than 250 experiments.
Our vision is to be the global preferred contract laboratory for research in aquaculture and fish welfare.
We have our own supply of both fresh water and salt water, and can provide just about anything in terms of water qualities with regard to temperature, salinity, filtering, UV treatment and gas saturation.
We are stationed at Marineholmen in Bergen – in the midst of the world’s leading cluster for marine research. Our facilities include a hatchery, fry hall, several RAS systems, post-smolt hall, aqua halls, disease halls and a raw material test hall for fish feed.
