ILAB visited Strand Upper Secondary School and Lerang Research Station to discuss potential RAS systems for ILAB’s experimental fish production.
An enthusiastic team of five ILAB employees, led by Reidar Handegård, set off early on 27 January 2026 for a road trip to Ryfylke, visiting Strand Upper Secondary School and Skretting’s feed research station at Lerang. Typical challenges and accumulated experience with small, compact RAS systems were eagerly discussed.
ILAB’s goal is to establish three new RAS lines with a total of 12 fish tanks in the Bioblock at Marineholmen. These tanks will produce future salmon juveniles for hundreds of experiments aimed at addressing the future challenges of aquaculture and animal welfare.
